Leopard-Print House Shoes @ Dollar General!

When faced with the many & varied house shoe options at Dollar General, I gravitate toward a sturdy & durable shoe that I can wear with or without socks or tights. Often times flip flops or "clatkehs" as my mother used to call them don't work with socks or hose. The perfect pair manifest itself one day at Dollar General- and the eye-candy appeal for me was that it was a leopard print pair! Normally I'm a conservative dresser, but sometimes I like a wild & crazy accent to my wardrobe- like these shoes! (The price was right too- they were $4.99!!) I'm happy to report that a year-and-a-half later, they are still being used on very cold days, double-up-sock-days! Apparently everyone else shopping at DG felt as I did about these great shoes, because when I returned a week later to buy a spare pair, there were none there... so my advice to you all today is that when you find something great at DG, buy 2 of them!

Here are a few more pictures of these terrific, leopard-print house shoes, found nowhere else in the world, but at Dollar General!

My Dollar General Oasis

Retail therapy for me is getting in the car and taking a 20 minute ride to my local Dollar General (located in Schroon Lake, New York). On the way over I make a mental list of everything I need and all the things I want. Secretly I hope that they've re-stocked their ladies fashion alcove, because I need new stuff! My wish list comprises cute tops, gauchos (flowy pants), house shoes, and whatever else they want to suprise me with. One of the things about Dollar General is you never know what you're gonna find!

As I approach the Dollar General and see that beautiful yellow sign, I know I'll be getting out in a few seconds. On this particular day it was very hot. As much as I hate getting out of the air-conditioned car, I couldn't wait to get into the DG. In this particular DG, the ladies fashion section is on the right as you enter the store, and on this particular day I was very happy to see they had a beautiful array of long night shirts... 2 for $5.00! How could you go wrong? Except for one thing, they were long-sleeved night time shirts (how schvitzy for the summer!) But that 's no problem for me because I'm an expert seamstress and cut and sewed those sleeves up when I got home! I was very happy with result.
